At 7:40 a.m. – an hour earlier than the rest of the student body – approximately 40 third, fourth, and fifth grade students come through the door at Floyd Elementary ready to learn. These students are part of a pilot project to provide additional academic support in the areas of Math and Reading. Seven highly qualified teachers work with small groups of students to help them boost their academic skills.
“We are thrilled to get this program off of the ground,” said Principal Rod Dishaw. “It is yet another great opportunity for us to give our students the tools they need for academic success.”
Plans are for the Zero Hour to run until the end of May.
