BCHS Families,
The following are news and notes from the high school:

ASVAB
Whether your student is planning on college, a technical school, the military, or they are just not sure yet, the ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) Career Exploration Program can provide them with important information about their skills, abilities and interests — and help put them on the right course for a satisfying career. Bullock Creek will be administering this free ASVAB on December 18. If your student is interested, please stop by the Counseling Center to register by December 9.
Co-Op
Juniors interested in Co-Oping next year should sign up in the Lancer Lounge to attend a very important meeting next Tuesday, December 8.
SCHOLARSHIPS
The Midland Area Community Foundation Scholarships are now available. Encourage your senior to check out their website at www.midlandfoundation.org.
To see more scholarships opportunities, you can visit the Bullock Creek Schools website (www.bcreek.org) and go to either the student or parent section and click on the counseling link. Scholarship opportunities are also posted in the Lancer Lounge in the counseling center and also on a bulletin board in D-Wing.
Profile of Student Life Survey
Next week all high school students will be participating in a Profile of Student Life survey being sponsored by The Legacy Center for Community Success. This is for all 6-12th grade students in Midland County and the results will guide the development of services available for Midland County students and their families. This survey has been administered in the past, most recently in 2010. Please see the attached letter for more information. If you wish to have your student not participate in this survey, please return the attached letter to the high school office before the start of school on Monday, December 7th.
FSA ID
If you were unable to attend the FSA ID Creation Night earlier this year, attached is the information you will need to log in and create a FSA (Federal Student Aid) ID. This is for Seniors who are interested in attending a college or university after graduation. In order to complete the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid), students will need a FSA ID. If you need help creating your student’s FSA ID, please contact Mrs. Brown or Mr. Bonello in the counseling office.
Food Drive
Hey Creekers! Help make the holidays brighter for families in our community by bringing in non-perishable food items to your 6th hour class through next Thursday. Donations will be picked up next Tuesday, and next Thursday after school.
