How to add new printers

New Kyocera copiers and printers were installed during the summer of 2016. Your computer will need setup to print to these new devices.

The Technology Department would be happy to perform these steps for you, just send us an email.

If you’d prefer to install set them up yourself, these instructions are for Mac laptops and can only be done when connected to our network:

Download and open this disk image.

If using Safari, click on the Downloads button and then double click the disk image in your Downloads:

If using Chrome, click on “Keep” at the bottom left of the window and then click on the disk image:

A new window will open in the Finder (click on the Finder on the Dock). Run both installation packages inside of it by double clicking on each and following the install prompts. It will ask for your name and password during this process.

Open System Preferences, then Printers and Scanners.

If you have any of the old Xerox machines listed (name will have .bcreek.k12.mi.us at the end) they should now be deleted. Click on the name of the printer and then click the “-” button at the bottom of the window.

Click the “+” button at the bottom of the window to add a new printer.

Click on the IP Printer tab – do not use the Default window.

Type in the name of the printer (copy and paste from the list below).

The device should be found and the appropriate driver selected automatically at the bottom. If it does not, there is either a communication error, the printer is off or something was typed incorrectly. If you are not able to sort it out, please contact the Technology Department and we can fix it for you.

If the printer options screen appears, all of our copiers have trays 3-4 as well as finishers.
