First Day of School Information

Greetings,
We are closing in on the first day of school.  The weather, as least this weekend, is feeling more like fall.  Please let me share a bit of information on the first day procedures.
All students will need to pick up a new schedule on the first day.  We will begin letting students go to their assigned schedule pick up stations at 7:25.  Students will be divided by grade level and a can find their schedules at the following locations.
6th grade – report to the LIBRARY
7th grade – report to the CARE CENTER
8th grade – report to the GYM
Students will receive their most current schedules.  In most cases schedules will be the same.
Students will then report to their first hour class, where teachers will be waiting to greet them.  A little extra time will be given so the students can navigate to the correct locations.
During their last class of the day (AC) students will cover some important material. We are encouraging them to share this information with you, so please ask about it.  They’ll be taking a pledge against bullying and reviewing the student handbook.  The handbooks will be sent home and must be signed and returned to their AC class.
Please remember to be patient with the buses.  During these first few days of school the drivers are learning the new routes and may be a few minutes early or late for pickup/drop off.
If you are planning to drop your student off at school, please remember that safety is the first priority. There will be 450 children entering the building in approximately 15 minutes, so there is a lot of activity in the parking lots.  Be safe and go SLOW!  Please leave the lane closest to the building free from parent traffic, as that is our bus lane.  Parents use the two outside lanes.  Children must remain in their vehicles until they reach the front of the line, at which time, they can exit the vehicle.
Pack the school bags and lunches and get ready for a great start.
Enjoy the holiday weekend and we’ll see you on Tuesday.
Curt Moses, Principal
