Pine River Families,
Friday, May 18, is a ½ day of school for students and they will be released at 12:05 p.m. Students will have the opportunity to eat lunch before they leave.
Pine River Elementary’s Girls on the Run participants have planned a community service project. They will collect various items for the Midland Humane Society. The collection will run from May 16 – May 22. Items should be placed in the designated boxes outside the office. Students are encouraged to bring in the following items:
- Blankets/bedding
- Towels
- Cleaning supplies
- Paper Towels
- Dog/cat food
- Cat litter
- Spare change will be collected, too.
We are also collecting Box Tops and Aunt Millie’s School Spirit labels through May 25. Please continue to collect these items over the summer.

It’s hard to believe that we are winding down the 2017-18 school year…the time definitely flies during the school year. The following are important dates to put on your calendar:
- May 28 – Memorial Day – no school for students
- June 4 – June 8 – Fourth Grade Chippewa Nature Center week
- June 11 – Field Day/Picnic Day – more information to come
- June 13 – Last Day of School – Students will be released at 12:35 p.m.
