Pine River Elementary was designated as an 2018 National Blue Ribbon School.
Superintendent Shawn Hale, Principal Debbie Bradford and 5th Grade Teacher Patrick VanCise were in Washington DC to accept the award.
It was presented by Aba Kumi, the Director of the National Blue Ribbon Schools Program from the Office of Communications and Outreach at the U.S. Department of Education.
The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program recognizes public and private elementary, middle, and high schools based on their overall academic excellence or their progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.
