Principal News Middle School 11/18/11

Happy Friday!  I would like to wish everyone a happy and safe Thanksgiving as I know many of you will be traveling to be with family sometime in the coming week.  Next week we will have school on Monday and Tuesday.  There will be no school on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

Locker clean out will take place on Monday and Tuesday during the last 15 minutes of each lunch.

The Middle School clothing closet has hats, coats and winter gloves available for students.  If your child is in need of these items, please have them stop in to see our Middle School Counselor, Mrs. Fermoyle or contact her directly at 989-631-2418 ext 1407.

The Sharing Tree Community Distribution Day is December 12th.  The Bullock Creek Sharing Tree Distribution Day is December 15th at the High School from 3pm-7pm and December 16th from 9am-2pm at the High School. If you are interested in volunteering for this event, please contact Jackie Fermoyle at 989-631-2418 ext 1407.

Once the weather becomes cold and snowy, we will begin keeping students in for the lunch interactive time.  When this happens, we will separate the students into two groups.  Half the students will go directly to lunch and half of the students will go to the gym.  This will allow students to have 15 minutes of activity and 15 minutes for lunch.  After 15 minutes, we will flip the two groups.  Students that require more time to eat, will be provided extra time to do so.  By doing this, we will hopefully create a safer environment for kids to interact in gym by reducing the number of students.

We just finished our Middle School can food drive on the 16th.   I would to thank all of the parents, students and teachers that help make this event successful.  There was an extremely generous amount of food donated.  We are very happy to report that a great number of our Bullock Creek families will receive food for the Holidays.  Thank you all!

Have a wonderful weekend,

Mr. Hale
