Bullock Creek Parents and Staff:
Last week on Friday, February 28, 2020, Governor Whitmer announced her plan to activate the State Emergency Operation Center to coordinate federal, state, and local agencies to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus Disease 2019. The Bullock Creek School District continues to closely follow the information released on the spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) through regular updates published by the Center for Disease Control (CDC). The CDC maintains up to date information on their website which is located at https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/about/index.html. You may also receive Michigan specific updates at https://www.michigan.gov/coronavirus.
The CDC provides the following specific strategies for preventing the spread of communicable diseases:
- Frequently washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds
- Covering your mouth with a tissue or sleeve when you sneeze or cough
- Avoiding touching your eyes, nose, and mouth
- Cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched objects and surfaces using aregular household cleaning spray or wipe
- Avoiding close contact with people who are sick
- Staying home when you are sick.Bullock Creek plans to continue to follow the cleaning procedures in each of our buildings to limit the spread of germs. It is our plan to stay in communication with local health officials to receive important updates and alerts. At this time, there are no confirmed cases of Coronavirus in Michigan and no recommendations for closing schools from federal, state, or local levels. Any decision to close school will be done in collaboration with local and state health officials. The safety and health of our staff and students is a priority and we will do our best to be as informed as possible regarding the 2019 Coronavirus.
