BCHS Announcement – January 19, 2021

The Student Council meeting that was scheduled for tomorrow morning has been CANCELLED!  No meeting tomorrow morning.

Don’t forget After School Intervention (ASI) will be held in Mrs. Sawicki’s room 11D today from 2:50 – 4:05!

Interested in joining the bowling team? Practice starts tomorrow at Valley Lanes from 4 to 5:30.

Hey Lancers! Listen up to hear the Cozy Winter Spirit Days!

Tomorrow is Cozy Sock Day…maybe you’ll have to wear slippers to school because your socks won’t even fit in your shoes?!

Thursday is Cozy Winter Boots Day…your feet will be hot by the time the day’s over, you’ll be all set to build a snowman at the end of the day!! Show your school spirit and participate, Lancers!!

ATTENTION SENIORS – The yearbook will accept your senior portraits, baby photos, and sibling photos until this Thursday, January 21st. You can submit a hard copy and it will be returned to you. If you do not submit your senior portrait, the photo taken in September for your school ID. The yearbook staff is also collecting photos for the senior graduation video. If you have any questions, ask a yearbook staff member or contact Mrs. Discher  at discherr@bcreek.org.

Hey Lancers!!! This year has thrown us some curveballs! We really want to focus on how we’re feeling, whether we’re happy, sad, anger, or silly! The Peer 2 Peer team worked together to come up with a scavenger hunt for your feelings! Check out your BC email for the scavenger hunt. Then, take some photos and send them to Ella Moses. You will be entered in a drawing to win some awesome gift cards!  Please participate so we know how you feel! This will run now until next Monday the 25th!

National Honor Society is sponsoring a BLOOD DRIVE on Tuesday, January 26th at the Dow Diamond Blood Collection Center from 3 – 8 pm. Go to the Versiti.org website and sign up for a donation time. If you are 16, you will need to fill out a first time donor form with a parent signature. They are available on the website, but they will also be available in the main office.

Attention Seniors – A representative of the US Army will be conducting a virtual visit on Wednesday, January 27th at 12:35.  If you would like to meet with him, please sign up in the Counseling Office.

The CTExpo will be held on Friday, January 29th.  If you are interested in learning more about one of 10 career and tech programs such as Educational Careers, Woodworking, Health Care Tech, Business, or GMCA, and you will be a junior or senior next year, check out your BC email for registration information.

Thank you to the many students who submitted Martin Luther King Jr. quotes to our contest.  Contributors recognized the incredible work and profound impact that MLK Jr. had on our nation.  The student whose quote was drawn for the $10 Starbucks gift card is Malana Roth. The $25 Amazon gift card will be awarded to Dakota Watkins. She shared this MLK Jr. quote:  “The function of education is to teach one to think intensively and to think critically. Intelligence plus character – that is the goal of true education.” Malana and Dakota, please stop by and see Mrs. Brown for your prizes.

LUNCH TOMORROW – Chicken alfredo over penne pasta or spaghetti w/meatballs, garlic toast, romaine veggie salad & fruit.
