All of our transportation staff members are trained and certified annually with the current CPR / AED and first aid program from the American Heart Association.

Please fill out a BCSD_Transportation_Registration_Form and email it to waskevichd@bcreek.orgor murraym@bcreek.org. Every bus stop has to be reviewed to ensure that it is a safe and legal bus stop prior to approval.
What if I know my child won’t be on the bus?
Please call the transportation department 989-832-4015 as soon as possible and leave your name, phone number, child’s name and bus number. You may also email our dispatch office at waskevichd@bcreek.orgor murraym@bcreek.org.

Bus Pass
A limit of two permanent bus passes may be issued by calling 989-832-4015 or email waskevichd@bcreek.org. All bus pass locations will need to reviewed prior to approval.
Bus Seating
All of our buses will have assigned seating, no exceptions.
Bus rules
Stay in your seat with your feet on the floor while bus is in motion.
Follow directions the first time they are given.
Keep hands, feet, objects and negative comments to self.
Keep all parts of your body and all objects inside the bus.
Keep all harmful objects (drugs, alcohol, tobacco, weapons, toys) off the bus.
Do not eat or drink on the bus. (*water is allowed)
*Medical or IEP conditions may allow students to eat and drink if necessary.

How safe is the bus?
The school bus is the safest vehicle on the road, your child is much safer taking a bus to and from school than traveling by car.
Students are about 70 times more likely to get to school safely when taking a bus instead of traveling by car. That’s because school buses are the most regulated vehicles on the road; they’re designed to be safer than passenger vehicles in preventing crashes and injuries; and in every state, stop-arm laws protect children from other motorists.
The greatest risk to your child is not riding a bus, but approaching or leaving one. Before your child goes back to school or starts school for the first time, it’s important for you and your child to know traffic safety rules. Teach your child to follow these practices to make school bus transportation safer.

For Parents
Safety starts at the bus stop– Your child should arrive at the bus stop at least ten minutes before the bus is scheduled to arrive. Visit the bus stop and show your child where to wait for the bus: at least three giant steps (six feet) away from the curb. Remind your child that the bus stop is not a place to run or play.
Getting on and off safely– When the school bus arrives, your child should wait until the bus comes to a complete stop, the door opens, and the driver says it’s okay before approaching the bus door. Your child should use the handrails to avoid falling.
Use caution around the bus– Your child should never walk behind a school bus. If your child must cross the street in front of the bus, tell him/her to walk on a sidewalk or along the side of the street to a place at least five giant steps (10 feet) in front of the bus before crossing. Your child should also make eye contact with the bus driver before crossing to make sure the driver can see him/her. If your child drops something near the school bus, like a ball or book, the safest thing is for your child to tell the bus driver right away. Your child should not try to pick up the item, because the driver might not be able to see him/her.
Bullock Creek Transportation in the community
Stuff the Bus Event– Stuff the Bus supports Midland County’s Great Start Readiness Program, Head Start and Early Childhood Special Education – programs offered by the Midland County Educational Service Agency in collaboration with many early childhood partners in Midland, Sanford, Coleman and Bullock Creek. In all, 30 classrooms in seven locations, as well as three different food pantries, will benefit from the donation drive.
Wonderful Wednesday– An after-school program ran by Messiah Lutheran Church keeping kids involved in the community and education.
Chippewa Nature Center, Maple Syrup Shuttle – Celebrating the season of syrup as the woods and sugarhouse come to life as they make maple syrup.
BCEL Creek Carnival– Brining the community together for a day of fun filled obstacle courses, games and prizes.
Relay for Life Midland County– Filling the bus with donations and the bus pull event to help support those in need in our community.
