The Lancer Shield yearbook staff will be selling the 2011-2012 yearbook during both lunches. For the cost of just $60 you can take home a yearbook full of memories!
Prom is Saturday, April 28 at The H Hotel in downtown Midland. Pictures are at 6:30pm and dinner at 7:30. Tickets will be sold Friday, and next Monday and Tuesday. Cost is $60 per couple, $30 for singles and include dinner. Horse & buggy rides will be available for an extra $5 per person. See Mrs. Sweebe or Mrs. Moody in room 6A with questions.
Don’t forget to get working on your dance guest pass if you plan to bring a guest from another school. The forms are available in the main office.
Fifth-graders from Pine River Elementary will be selling anti-bullying bracelets during both lunches tomorrow. The cost of the bracelet is $1.00. The fifth-grade class is earning money to help sponsor an anti-bullying assembly for all elementary students. Please bring your dollar to help them spread their no-bullying message!
Myths about sexual assault are all around. Sexual Assault Awareness month is a great time to do your own “myth-busting”. Look for rape myths on TV or in movies.
Especially watch for:
• Women being blamed for sexual assault based on what they wear or their past history
• All perpetrators of sexual assault looking like “boogeymen” rather than “the guy next door”
• Strangers being likely to perpetrate sexual assault. It’s much more common to be sexually assaulted by someone a person knows.
