High School News 2/1/11

Dear BCHS Families,

I hope everyone is enjoying the change in weather. Spring sports officially began this past Monday and I know they are looking forward to some nicer weather. Here are some items for this week:

Spring Break is just around the corner. The last day for students before break is Friday, March 25 and students return to school on Tuesday, April 5th. If you are traveling over break, I wish you safe travels.
Prom is getting close as well. Prom is on Saturday, April 30th this year and will be held at the Holiday Inn. You can support your Junior/Senior Prom by going to Pizza Sam’s on Monday, March 21 and a percentage goes to our Prom fund.
There is still time to register for an AP Exam. For more information or to sign up, see the Counseling Center. The deadline to sign up in March 23.
If you have a student that is a senior, Jostens will be here on Tuesday, April 5th with your order for graduation. Students can pick up their order during lunch hours in the cafeteria. Checks are to be made out to Jostens.
Please note the following parent meetings:

CLASS OF 2012 PARENT MEETING (parents of current Juniors)
There will be an important Class of 2012 Parent Meeting on Monday, March 21 at 7:00pm in the Auditorium. Please attend to learn more about your student’s senior year. We will be discussing colleges, scholarships, financial aid, co-oping, and off campus opportunities.

CLASS OF 2013 PARENT MEETING (parents of current Sophomores)
On Monday, March 21 at 6:00pm in the Auditorium there will be a parent meeting. Parents will have an opportunity to learn about off campus opportunities, class options for junior year and more.

If you are not going away for Spring Break, here is an opportunity for students to have some fun:

Spring Break Party at Valley Lanes
Midland Area Partnership for Drug-Free Youth, along with The Rock Youth Center and West Midland Family Center are hosting a Spring Break Party at Valley Lanes for high school students. Join the Party, Sunday, March 27th from 8PM – midnight at Valley Plaza. For just $5. students can enjoy unlimited bowling, mini-golf and a DJ for dancing! Invite your friends that are in town over spring break and come have a great time! Don’t forget your photo ID.
