Dear Families,
It is with great pleasure that I welcome you to Floyd Elementary School. We eagerly await welcoming new families & students, and listening to the summer stories and memories of returning families and students.
Last school year we initiated a consistent and meaningful development of curriculum to meet the new aggressive Common Core standards. I anticipate that we will continue to work with our students and families to educate everyone on the high expectations we all will share responsibility for implementing.
We are also excited for our pilot year of Nature Kindergarten at Floyd. Working in collaboration with the Chippewa Nature Center we are hoping that this program will be a positive addition for our Kindergarten students!
The first day of school is Tuesday, September 4. Our school day begins at 8:40. Dismissal will be at 3:40 p.m.
I am looking forward to seeing all of you and getting to know our new families.
