The first day went very well. We are so excited to work with your children throughout the coming year. We are sending home a few items to be reviewed and signed, which we covered during 4th hour of the first day. Please take time to review the handbook with your child and sign the back page. Please notice our new district approved bullying policy, which is included on pages 10-13. There is a green registration form that needs to be completed in order for us to update your current contact information. This registration form has two sides and needs to be signed at the bottom of the back page. There is also a photo release form in the back of the handbook to be signed as well.
Each student received a planner on the first day. We feel that a planner is a very good tool to help students stay organized. Please encourage your child to use this regularly by writing down daily assignments. This also provides you with details of daily assignments.
Many of the middle school teachers will be using our school website (www.bcreek.k12.mi.us) to post daily assignments and activities. To access this, go to the district website and select groups. This will take you to our Wiki page which you can then select 7th or 8th grade. At this point the 6th grade teachers will submit their daily assignments and activities to Mrs. Fleming and she will send a daily email home detailing classroom activities. We hope you find this to be helpful. I would also like to also remind you to utilize SchoolView to monitor your child’s grades. If you have lost or forgotten your login information, please contact the middle school office at 631-9260.
We will kick off our middle school fund raiser beginning tomorrow. Funds generated from this help pay for activities and field trips organized by student council.
The current 7th grade students will be traveling to Greenfield Village on September 14th with the 6th grade teachers. As you may remember, we postponed this trip at the end of last school year. If you have additional questions, please contact Mrs. Willsie.
There will be a school dance on Thursday September 13th from 2:30-4:00pm. Our Welcome Back Barbecue is also on Thursday September 13th and will run from 4:00pm-5:30pm. When you stop by to pick up your student(s), please come in to meet teachers and have a hot dog. We look forward to seeing you all here.
There will be home varsity football game this Friday against Hemlock. Kick off will be at 7:00pm.
Picture Day is October 2nd.
We are in need of some additional 8th grade girls to play basketball. If your daughter has an interest, please encourage her to stop into the main office for details.
