Another great start to another great week!
Today is Count Day.
October is the month of MEAP testing. The first day is Tuesday October 9th. October 10th, 11th, 16th and 17th are also MEAP days. Make-up MEAP days for those that miss a test will take place after the 17th. Please encourage your child to get plenty of rest, eat a good breakfast and put forth their best effort. MEAP is tied with the National Common Core and is a good early indicator of college readiness. For 7th grade students, the MEAP is one of the three achievement scores we use to determine our 8th grade Algebra students. We challenge all students to achieve their highest score.
There is no school on October 12th. This is a teacher professional development day. Teaching staff will be working on Informational Literacy.
Parent and Teacher Conferences will be held on October 23rd from 4-7:30 and October 25th from 3-6:30. Please stop by to meet teachers and discuss your child’s academic performance.
It is hard to believe but the end of the first quarter is November 2nd. At that time in all Core Classes, student grades start fresh. If your child has struggled adjusting academically to a new year at the Middle School, encourage them to finish this first quarter strong and work hard to maintain passing grades in second term.
7th and 8th grade boys basketball and wrestling signups are beginning this week. Please have your child sign up in the main office if they are interested.
Have a wonderful day!
Mr. Hale
