Pine River Elementary began a Toys and Toiletries Drive on Monday, November 26th. Please help local families this holiday season by bringing toys and toiletries to school between now and December 12. The toys will be donated to the Salvation Army in memory of Jayden Lamb. All items will be given to local Midland County families.
Just a reminder about Birthday Invitations/Celebrations (Pine River Handbook): If your child would like to pass out party invitations, please be sure they have an invitation for each student in their class. If not all students are invited to the party, please send the invitations in the mail. This will reduce the possibility of causing hurt feelings.
With the cold weather upon us, if there is snow on the ground students are required to wear snow pants, boots, gloves/mittens/hats during recess. If students do not have boots and snow pants, they need to stay on the cemented area/track and out of the snow. We do have a few pairs of snow pants and boots available. If you need help with providing these items, please let us know.
There have been a few cases of head lice at the building. It is a good practice to periodically check your child’s head. Also, stress to your child the importance of not sharing hats/scarves/headbands, etc.
Friday, November 30th marked the end of the first trimester. You should expect your child’s report card coming home on Monday, December 10.
