Middle School Principal News 01/09/13

Welcome back!   Hopefully you had a very enjoyable Christmas break or maybe you are exited about your kids returning back to school. Either way, we are exited to have kids back in school.

Our first term ends on January 24th.  Students will be given a grade for term two and a semester grade.   The semester grade is an average of term one and term two.

There is no school on January 25th as this is a teacher work day.

The annual Reality Store will take place on Friday January 18th.  This is an opportunity for 8th graders to participate in an activity in which they are given a hypothetical living scenario and monthly income.  Students are required to visit with local businesses and agencies which have booths set up in our gymnasium.  Each student is responsible for establishing a budget and working through the reality of their particular scenario to end their month with a positive financial balance.  Mrs. Fermoyle works really hard to make sure this is an excellent experience for all of our 8th graders.

The annual ski trip to Snow Snake Mountain will take place on February 13th.  There will be more information available soon.

There are currently sign up sheets in the main office for the school play, girls 7th and 8th grade volleyball and the Art Club.

It has come to my attention that some parents are unable to receive my newsletter at work when there are attachments.  I have decided to provide notice that there is an attachment in a newsletter and only provide the attachment when I post them on the district web page.  You will receive the newsletter but need to go to the district webpage and open Principal News Middle School to view the attachment.  Principal News Middle School is found in the drop down screen on the left side of our district web page.  You can also review old newsletters at this location as well.  Hopefully this will allow everyone the opportunity to receive each of my newsletters.

With that said, there will be an attachment on the district web page which includes information about Midland County Prosecutor’s and Judges invitation for parents to attend the annual Criminal Sexual Conduct presentation at Jefferson Middle School on February 6th at 7:00pm.    Parent Letter

Have a great rest of your week.

Mr. Hale
