Dear Parents,
- As part of our dedication to the safety and well being of all of our children in the Bullock Creek School District, we annually review and revise our emergency procedures. With the assistance of the Midland County Sheriff’s Department, Michigan State Police and the Midland County Emergency Management Office we discuss scenarios and make appropriate action plans.
One of our required drills involves the practicing of “locking down” the building in the event of an intruder or other threat to the safety of the school community. The drill is rather simple and our teachers have trained and thought about their role in the scenario. During the week, each elementary school will conduct one of these lock-down drills to assure that we are operating at optimal effectiveness. While every effort is made to assure children that this is “only a test” we wanted to communicate with you directly in case your child comes home talking about the drill. We thank you for your continued support of our school programs. Please rest assured that the issue of student safety is our top priority.
