Midland County Enhancement Millage on February 25

Dear Bullock Creek Families:

As you may be aware, the voters of the Midland County School Districts, which include residents of Bullock Creek, Coleman, Meridian, and Midland will be asked to renew the Midland County Enhancement Millage on February 25, 2014.  Voting will take place at your normal election precinct (there are no longer special school election precincts…vote where you would vote for state, federal, or local elections which would usually be your township hall).

Renewal of this millage by voting “YES” will NOT increase your taxes, and is a vital revenue source for all of the Midland County Schools.

Specifically, in Bullock Creek this renewal represents approximately $800,000 per year or 4% of our budget.  These funds have been used for protection of class sizes, replacing aging textbooks, maintaining and enhancing our curriculum, and allowing ancillary services such as counseling, support for career and technical education, and facilities and technology maintenance.

Simply put, the enhancement millage has been a lifeline for the Bullock Creek Schools.  The renewal of the enhancement millage is essential to continue the delivery of quality education to our students.

I ask that you read the brochure that has been attached to this letter and share this with your family and friends.  Please carefully consider the need for this renewal and vote on February 25, 2014.

As always, I would be happy to discuss this issue or any other of your concerns.  Please feel free to contact me at 989-631-9022 or email me at schwedlerc@bcreek.org.

Take care and stay warm!

Sincerely,

CharlieSig
