We have finished our first full week of school and students seem to be settling nicely into the school routine. I would like to thank everyone for helping to get the school year off to a smooth start.
I would like to remind everyone that a great way to check the progress of your student’s grades is through the Skyward Family Access feature. This will allow you to view the teacher’s gradebook for your student’s classes. This will show you what assignments have been turned in and what grade was received on each assignment. You can also view your student’s attendance. If you have any questions about accessing Skyward Family Access, please call the main office at 989-631-2340.
We often have colleges and branches of the military that will visit the high school during the school year. This is a good way for students to learn about colleges and become more aware of what choices are out there. The following colleges will be visiting on these dates and times:
Tuesday, 9-16-14 – CMU at 1:35
Wednesday, 9-17-14 – Delta College at 12:35
Thursday, 9-18-14 – Olivet College at 1:40
Students can sign up in the Counseling/Career Center if they would like to visit with one of the colleges. Various colleges will be visiting throughout the school year. Students are made aware of college visits on the daily student announcements. As I mentioned in last weeks note, you can also view our daily student announcements by vising our website (www.bcreek.org).
Albion College is hosting a special night for students interested in medicine or a health care profession. This event will take place on

Yearbooks for the 2013-14 school year were handed out today, Friday, September 12, during 6th hour. If you still need to pick up a yearbook from last school year, you can do this in the high school media center.
We are beginning to gear up for our Homecoming festivities as we are about 3 weeks away from our Homecoming Football Game on October 3 versus Hemlock. Homecoming activities kick off on Saturday, September 27 with our Powder Puff Football game at 5:00 p.m. at Lancer Stadium.
