Superintendent Message

Good Morning,

I am not quite certain how to frame this announcement, but here goes;

I have been offered the position of Director of the Community Advancement Network, whose purpose is to work with and strengthen nonprofit organizations in the Great Lakes Bay Region. This position is under the auspices of the Midland County United Way.

After careful consideration and consultation with my family, I have decided to accept this position. This obviously will require that I retire and I plan on doing so in August. I have been in education for 33 years, in fact, I have been getting up and going to school for 51 years! As much as I love the world of education (Bullock Creek in particular) I have a heart for nonprofits and I believe this is a great opportunity to have a positive impact on the wider community.

I want you to know that this has been an excruciatingly difficult decision. I love Bullock Creek with my whole heart and soul… More than you can imagine. This has been my life for 21 years, in fact, the best years of my life. I am so proud of this district, and what we have accomplished together. I have you to thank for that. Words can’t express my gratitude.

I wish the timing were better, but sometimes a door opens and you need to walk through it before it closes. The Board of Education will be deciding what the next steps for my replacement will be within the next week.

I’m not going anywhere, I will be right around the corner (literally). I will continue to be the biggest cheerleader for all things Creek. I will always have a School Boy Heart! (Yep, one more Jimmy Buffett reference)

Again, my heartfelt gratitude.

It’s a Great Day to be a Lancer!

Charlie
