BCMS News & Notes

Dear BCMS Families,
Let me share some information on what’s going on in the next couple of weeks…
1.  We have a BCMS dance tomorrow (October 18th).  2:30-4:00.  $3/admission, $1/pizza, $0.50/pop – Please have a ride waiting at 4pm.  I encourage rides to use both the visitor and bus loops to help alleviate traffic congestion.
2.  MS Halloween Concert

The 7th and 8th Grade Bands will be performing their first concert of the year on October 30th at 7pm in the BCHS Auditorium! Please see info below:
Call time for Students: 6pm (8th grade band meet on stage, 7th grade band meet in band room)
Concert Time: 7pm (Concert will last approximately on hour- your student is required to be there for the full concert. Please plan accordingly.)
Attire: A costume! You choose- just make sure you can still play your instrument and don’t block anyone’s view!
Admission: Donation at the door
*Everyone is encouraged to dress up for the concert! At the end, we will have a parade across the stage for children to show off their costumes!
3.  The middle school has just recently begun using an automated attendance message system to let parents/guardians know if their student has been marked absent during a school day. At the end of the day, approximately 3:15 p.m., a phone message will be sent out on any student that has been marked absent and has an unverified or unexcused absence (which means the school does not know the reason why the student was gone). The system will send an automated message letting you know your student was marked absent.  The phone message will be sent to the phone number that is listed as your primary number in Skyward. The system will also send up to 3 e-mails that are associated with the student’s account.  This is a brand new system and we are still working out a few bugs to make it the most efficient. If you have any questions about this system, please let me know.
4.  We have been signing up middle school athletes for our BCMS wresting program.  We’re encouraging students who are interested to sign up by the end of the week.  *A current sports physical must be on file with the office before starting practices.
5.  November 2nd – End of the first marking period
6.  November 6th – NO SCHOOL
Please take a minute to review the attached flyers.
Have a great week.
Curt Moses
